Which region is known as the “spacecraft cemetery”?

Point Nemo, located in the South Pacific Ocean, is known as the “spacecraft cemetery”. It is used as a dumping ground for decommissioned satellites, space stations, and other space debris, as it is the point on Earth that is farthest from any land, minimizing risks to human life. Space agencies, including NASA, ESA (European Space Agency), and Roscosmos (Russian space agency), use this region to deorbit and dispose of defunct satellites, space stations, and spacecraft after their missions are complete. The Russian space station Mir was intentionally deorbited into this region in 2001.
